Upcoming: Mandible Reconstruction After Gunshot Injury

Path case coming up in Guatemala. Old GSW going to be treated by @hashtagomfs @car.omfs @andyomfs. First stage is the bones. Then the soft tissue.

This patient in Guatemala is living with the long-term effects of an old gunshot wound to the lower face — severe distortion of the lower lip and jaw, scarring, loss of mandibular continuity, and hardware from prior attempts at repair. Virtual surgical planning shows hardware removal, mandible repositioning, and right fibula free-flap reconstruction with vessels connecting to the left neck. Fibula segments are planned at approximately 54 mm, 35 mm, and 47 mm, with plate fixation using 2.0/2.3 mm screws.

Tremendously grateful for @hashtagomfs @car.omfs @andyomfs for lending their skills for this patient in Guatemala. Upcoming September 2026. Thank you to our Donors and Surgeons!

Further, Together.
